New SUV Ford EcoSport launched in New Delhi India
Ford Motor Co launched its new global compact sports utility vehicle, EcoSport, in India.
The EcoSport is the second of eight new vehicles that Ford plans to launch in India by 2015. Previously, it was built only in Brazil, and then was developed after considering market needs in India and other developing markets such as the ASEAN region.
Fisker Automotive recalls plug-in electric hybrids
Due to a battery problem that might cause a fire, Fisker Automotive is recalling more than 200 of its $100,000 plug-in electric hybrids.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Fisker Automotive is recalling 239 of its 2012 Karma sedans because of a misaligned battery part could cause coolant to leak and result in a fire.
Ford Brand Sales More Than 2 Million Vehicles For The 1st Time Since 2007
By the end of 2011 Ford announced that U.S. sales of the Ford brand surpassed 2 million vehicles for the first time since 2007. That makes Ford the best selling brand in America and the first automotive brand to hit the 2 million mark since 2007.
Honda plans to make lighter car
According to the Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Honda plans to adopt new design and assembly methods to make its vehicles lighter.
Some of Honda’s new design and assembly methods include welding outer panels to the frame of the vehicle instead of assembling the ceiling, side and the rest of the panels, in order to reduce the usage of bolts and reinforcing materials.
